My three favourite hand creams for eczema

Categories Health & BeautyPosted on

I would love to say that I have found the holy grail item for eczema, with no more dry skin, no more rough patches and no more itching. But for those who have eczema you know it’s not just about eliminating the problem but also managing your condition. My skin changes a lot throughout the year from having no dry skin to my hands being so sore with cuts and dry patches that it’s hard to type and write or even move them. I haven’t read about people who have eczema this severe and for me my skin has cleared up a lot over the years, but my hands just didn’t get the memo. That means I am frequently trying new hand creams, and these are the best ones I have discovered yet.

The Body Shop – Hemp £12

This is a very thick hand cream which I love to have even though it means more massaging time. This usually leaves my hands moisturised for a good few hours, but the smell is a little unusual at first and definitely takes time to get used to. On the other hand, I did notice that there were less dry patches and cuts if I used this frequently day and night.

Aveeno – £5.99

This is a very mild hand cream and one I would usually keep in my bag just in case I forget one of my stronger hand creams such as the Body Shop hand cream mentioned above. It’s also quite a small sized tube too which means it’s so handy for leaving in your bag and taking on the go. I would usually use this during the summer as my hands are usually less dry. There is no intense fragrance and the cream is a medium thickness, perfect to quickly moisturise without any greasiness.

Diprobase – £11

The formula was quite thick which I prefer and this definitely did soothe my hands when applied. I used this constantly for about two weeks and there was a noticeable different and my hands did feel softer.  The tube is not specifically for hands as its a body mosrturiser whch makes it quite large to carry around.
