Thirty-six hours in Nottingham

Categories FoodPosted on

Nottingham, the home of Robin Hood and….? Yeah, I don’t really know either. So the list won’t be as extensive as my Boston Post, but that doesn’t mean Nottingham is not worth visiting. Being back in England after my study abroad semester (there I go again, I’ll stop talking about it one day I promise, well probably not), means I’m not having as many travel adventures as before. However, having sisters and friends at different universities means I still get to explore new parts of the UK to fill that void. So here are a few places that made my trip to Nottingham rather memorable and yes the food was VERY MEMORABLE, oh and my twin too, yep can’t forget her.

City Centre

So the city centre was definitely massive, with so many shops, which I definitely love. However, my favourite part of Nottingham was the old English/ Countryside feel I got when walking through certain streets and areas. It’s a great city to visit to experience the culture as well as get a whole lot of shopping done. A win if you ask me.

The Tram Service

Liverpool doesn’t have a tram service so it was a very new concept for me. Although there are trams back home in Birmingham, I have always opted for the bus. However, the tram felt like a bus/train hybrid which I would definitely recommend using when visiting Nottingham. It’s a faster and easier method of transportation that’s also popular with the locals and university students.

The Pudding Pantry

This has got to be one of my favourite breakfast and eating spots I have ever visited. Not only where the pancakes fluffy and delicious, but the service was excellent. As a nut-allergy suffer I have always been cautious about trying new restaurant and cuisines. However, pudding options are always extra risky in case there’s a certain type of chocolate or even something nut related in the flour. But upon ordering my food in the Pudding Panty our waitress (I really wish I had her name now!) was extremely cautious with the ingredient list and even asked if I carried an epi-pen . Not once in my twenty years of existence have I ever been asked that by a food establishment and I didn’t know realise until now how important it is to ask that question. I would certainly recommend the Pudding Pantry to all dessert lovers for a gorgeous bunch spot when visiting Nottingham!
