Disney Plus is completely taking over my life and I’m okay with it.
Gone are the days of endlessly searching for a show, arguments with siblings to decide what to watch, because now we get to rewatch shows and films we grew up with and we couldn’t be happier.
So, to share how I have been spending most of my time during lockdown, these are my top tv and film picks from throwbacks, new picks and next on my watch list.
(Disclaimer: I hope you’re ready for a whole lot of references and cringe)
Throwback Shows:
TOP: Wizards of Waverly Place
If you couldn’t already tell by the title my siblings and I were obsessed with Wizards of Waverly Place.
My twin and I were (and who are we kidding, still are) Selena fans and so it’s no surprise we love this show. The storylines and jokes still crack us up (I don’t know what that says about us…) so it’s definitely one of my go to shows on the platform.

One thing that amazes me is how few seasons Disney shows had as I feel like I used to watch a new episode every day, anyone else?
Others:
Hannah Montana – Because who hasn’t stopped thinking about her epic closet/ walk in wardrobe/ mini mall in her house!
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody – We all need to be reminded that drinking soda after nine thirtyyyyyyyy is cool.
Throwback films:
TOP: High School Musical
From having a high school music pencil case, keyring, backpack, clothes and even THIS MUG it’s fair to say I was just a little (okay, a LOT) obsessed with HSM.
Who remembers feeling so young watching Troy Bolton battle his love for basketball and singing, the squad having summer jobs to raise money for college and then leaving for said college? They felt so old, but now I’m watching this having almost finished college/university. WILD (cats).
Others:
Cheetah Girls – COS WE ARE SISTERS. WE STAND TOGETHER. WE MAKE UP ONE BIG FAMILY AND WE DON’T LOOK THE SAME. Ahhh, what a bop.
Toy Story – Especially no.2 where we can all be jealous of Al’s envious commute to work to Al’s Toy Barn.
Little Mermaid – Ursula or Morgana – who scared you more?
10 Things I Hate About You – Heath Ledger’s Rendition of ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You’ needs to be on Spotify already, like come on.
The Pacifier – Why didn’t Drake put the Peter Panda Dance in Toosie Slide, now that’s a CHALLENGE.
Princess Protection Programme – That frozen yogurt scene still makes me cringe.
New picks: TV Show
TOP: Raven’s Home
So apparently Raven got married, had kids, got divorced, got Chelsea to move in with her, lives with three kids now and still has visions. Huh, who knew. Well we all do know and that’s the power of Disney Plus. Providing the knowledge we didn’t know we needed.
New Picks: Movie
TOP: The Lizzie McGuire Movie
I can’t believe I went my whole childhood without watching the Lizzie McGuire Movie, whoops.
Next on my watch list:
MOANA – Yep, still haven’t seen it. My bad.
High School Musical Series – Anything HSM and I’m in. DAMN IT I Should have said WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!
Get a Clue – Cos we all love a Lindsey Lohan teen film.
