So, I’ve finished my second year at university…. how are we already here?? Just a few months ago I was on my plane to Canada and a few months before that I was driving to Liverpool, moving into Carnatic ready to start my first year.
It’s fair to say that the last year has been eventful – going to Canada (there she goes again), starting my blog, adjusting back to life in Liverpool and finishing my second year. It’s crazy how fast this year has gone and so weird to think that by this time next year I’ll almost be graduating!
But before the year of inevitable stress (how am I going to write a dissertation?!?), I think it’s important to reflect on the last year. It already feels like a lifetime ago that I was getting a plane to Canada, but I have definitely become more settled and independent at university this year.
From starting my blog, I feel that my career choices and options are becoming clearer and have allowed me to explore new careers paths in journalism and media. Joining the Liverpool Echo as a student writer has also been a huge milestone and has allowed me to really experience life as a journalist. I guess what I’ve learnt this year, is that a lot of things fall into place by themselves, moments really do affect other moments. Two years ago, when I was at school, I didn’t know I would be studying History at university, I didn’t know I would have lived in Canada for four months and I didn’t know I would have a blog.
So, I don’t want to be too cheesy, but it’s important to reflect on our moments as we really don’t know what the future has in store for us. This year has led to so many incredible moments and I’m excited for the next year!
